The afternoon at the country house passed… in a very different way than Sienna had imagined.
After the late breakfast, she had thought that perhaps they could go for a walk through the fields, explore the place, or at least get some fresh air.
But Julian had other plans.
More specifically, a single plan.
"Julian…"
Sienna spoke, laughing breathlessly.
"You know there's something called 'leaving the room'?"
He looked at her as if the idea seemed completely unnecessary.
"Why?"
And he really seemed to believe it.
The room, illuminated by the warm afternoon light, ended up becoming the only world they both knew for hours. Between laughter, kisses, and increasingly intimate moments, they spent much of the day simply discovering each other, learning little by little what made the other laugh, what surprised them, what made them sigh.
Julian, who was normally so controlled and quiet in front of others, seemed to have left that part of himself outside the room.
With Sienna, he was intense, curious… and absolutely tireless.
Sienna, on the other hand, started the afternoon with enthusiasm, but as the hours passed, her energy began to disappear.
"I think… I'm married to a man who never gets tired…"
Julian raised an eyebrow.
"Is that a good thing?"
"It depends on whether I survive."
In the end, exhaustion won.
At some point near sunset, Sienna simply fell asleep among the sheets, completely exhausted.
Julian stayed awake for a while longer, watching her with a calm expression that few people had seen on him.
The silence of the house, the soft wind entering through the window… and the woman sleeping deeply beside him.
The afternoon ended like that.
Sienna woke up suddenly.
The room was dark.
For a second she didn't understand where she was.
Then she saw the dim light of a lamp and heard the sound of the night wind outside the window.
She sat up a little.

"Close to midnight."
