[SCENE 1: THE HAUNTED BASEMENT]
Narrator: (Deep, dramatic voice) It is 11:30 PM. The night is pitch black. Four friends enter a creepy, dusty basement for a new "Horror Escape Room" game. Little do they know... they aren't alone! (Makes a creepy sound: Whoosh!)
Felix: (Clapping his hands, looking around) Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the scariest game in the city. Don't worry about the tickets, I paid for them. Enjoy the ghosts!
Chloe: (Gasping, waving her hands in panic) Oh my god, Felix! Why didn't you tell me it would be this dusty? What if I get an asthma attack? And what is that weird smell? Did someone die here? Arlo, I want to go home, I swear I can't breathe!
Arlo: (Completely calm, inspecting a wall switch) Chloe, take a deep breath and relax. Nobody died here. It’s just old paint and a cheap fog machine. It’s a 45-minute game. Just use your brain so we can find the exit code.
Coco: (Unzipping a giant backpack) You guys look for the clues. I need to load some fuel first.
Felix: (Staring at Coco in disbelief) Seriously, Coco? We are trapped in a haunted room and you are pulling out... wait, is that a stuffed paratha?
Coco: (Taking a huge bite) Yes, with pickles! When I get stressed or scared, my stomach doesn't get butterflies, it gets dinosaurs. By the way, Arlo, help me out. I’m trying to hack this room's smart-lock via Bluetooth.
Narrator: (Loudly beats the table or floor: BANG!) Suddenly! The main wooden door slams shut and locks from the outside! The lights flicker, the spooky music stops, and there is dead silence!
[SCENE 2: THE MYSTERY UNFORDS]
Chloe: (Screaming at the top of her lungs, grabbing Arlo's arm) Mummy! The door is locked! We are trapped here forever! We are going to starve to death!
Felix: (Smiling, eating a chip from Coco) Relax, Chloe. As long as Coco has her backpack, we can survive a nuclear winter in here.
Arlo: (Pushing the door hard) Wait. This isn't part of the game. The electronic lock is totally dead and the emergency exit red light is off. Something is seriously wrong.
Coco: (Pulling out a modified tablet from her bag, typing furiously) Guys, look at this screen! I just bypassed the building's CCTV network. The real game operator outside... he is lying unconscious on the floor!
Chloe: (Trembling) What?! Does that mean there is a real ghost out there? Or a murderer?
Arlo: (Squinting at the tablet screen) Not a ghost, a human. Look at the newspaper on the floor next to the operator. Read the headline, Coco.
Coco: (Zooming in) Oh my god! "Dangerous serial killer 'The Hatchet Man' escaped from central jail last night. Believed to be hiding in old abandoned structures!"
Felix: (Sarcastic laugh) Wow! Perfect! We paid money to lock ourselves in a room with a real-life serial killer. Talk about customer satisfaction!
[SCENE 3: THE THRILLER RUN]
Narrator: (Making a loud rumbling sound: GHRRRRRRR!) Suddenly, a terrifying noise comes from above! The ceiling starts slowly moving down, threatening to crush them all!
Chloe: (Dropping to her knees, crying dramatically) Oh great! Now the roof is falling! We are going to become human chutneys! I haven't even gone viral on Instagram yet!
Arlo: (Looking up, calculative) Screaming will only waste oxygen, Chloe! The ceiling is on hydraulic gears. The killer activated the trap from the control room. The override code must be hidden right here.
Coco: (Pulling out a laser pointer and scanner) Arlo! Look at the right wall. My laser scanner is detecting a hidden panel behind that old photo frame. It’s a numeric keypad!
Arlo: (Rushing to the panel) It needs a 4-digit password.
Felix: (Noticing a large wardrobe in the corner shaking) Guys, I don't know the password, but our special guest has arrived to give us a hint!
Narrator: (Dramatic voice) The wardrobe swings open! Out steps a tall, masked man, holding a large, shining axe! The Hatchet Man is here!
[SCENE 4: THE CLIMAX]
Chloe: (Hiding her face behind Arlo) Mr. Ghost! Please don't kill me! I am innocent! Take Felix, he tells terrible jokes!
Felix: (Looking at the killer's axe) Wow, buddy! That’s a heavy axe. Do you even lift? Also, that mask is so last season. You need a stylist.
Killer: (Roaring, raising the axe) Silence! You all die tonight!
Arlo: (Typing frantically on the keypad) Coco! I figured out the code! The escape room poster outside said 'Established in 2016'. The code is 2-0-1-6! But I need 10 seconds to bypass the system. Stop him!
Coco: (Digging into her bag) 10 seconds? I have the perfect recipe for this!
Narrator: Coco pulls out a massive packet of red chilli powder and a mini battery-operated fan from her bag! She turns the fan on and dumps the chilli powder right in front of it!
Coco: (Shouting) Felix, Arlo, close your eyes!
Narrator: (Making coughing sounds: Khokh-khoh!) The blinding cloud of spicy chilli powder flies straight into the killer's masked face! He drops his axe, clutching his eyes in pure agony!
Felix: (Stepping forward, hitting the killer's foot with a water bottle) And that’s a complimentary drink from our side, sir!
Narrator: The killer slips on the floor and crashes down! At the exact same moment, Arlo hits the final button! (BEEP!)
Arlo: Code accepted!
Narrator: A loud CLICK sounds! The ceiling stops moving, and the main door flies wide open! Bright morning light floods the room!
[SCENE 5: THE RESOLUTION]
Narrator: It is morning. Sirens are blaring outside as the police drag the masked killer away in handcuffs. The four friends sit on the stairs, exhausted but alive.
Chloe: (Still talking non-stop, fanning herself) Oh my god, what if the chilli powder was expired? What if Arlo typed 2015 instead of 2016? We would be a headline in the evening news!
Arlo: (Smiling, patting Coco's back) But we made it, Chloe. Because we had the right logic at the right time.
Felix: And most importantly... we had Coco and her magical bottomless bag of snacks and weapons.
Coco: (Pulling out a box of chocolates) Surviving a killer burns a lot of calories. Here, eat this. So... where are we going for our next trip, guys?
Arlo, Chloe, Felix: (Shouting together in fear) We are staying home forever!
Narrator: And so, the four friends lived to tell the tale, proving that a mix of brains, snacks, drama, and bad jokes can defeat any killer.
The End
