The dark storm gradually settled over The Whispering Woods, leaving behind a heavy, suffocation-like stillness. Rael stood at the center of the scorched clearing, staring down at his hands. Crimson veins pulsed beneath his pale skin, and a pair of massive, feathered black wings flared from his back before folding neatly against his spine. The physical pain was entirely gone, replaced by an intoxicating, boundless power.
Ignis crossed his arms, a slow, approving smile stretching across his face. "Feel that? That is the weight of true freedom. But raw power without control is useless. How do you intend to use it first?"
Rael turned his head toward the distant trail leading back to his village. Plumes of black smoke were still visible rising above the tree line against the moonlit sky.
"The soldiers who attacked... and the villagers who handed me over," Rael said, his voice now carrying a low, echoing resonance. "They believe I am dead. I want to see the look on their faces when they realize their mistake."
Ignis let out a low chuckle. "A fiery spirit. Very well. But remember your oath, Rael: you are not going back as a mindless butcher. You are going back as their judge."
Back in the village square, the corrupt royal soldiers were celebrating. They had stacked stolen gold, grain, and valuables in the center of the plaza while the remaining villagers cowered near the burning ruins of their homes.
Captain Vane, a towering man clad in heavy iron armor, chugged from a wooden tankard, laughing loudly. "A pathetic haul, but at least that foolish boy gave us no trouble! Thrown to the woods like trash!"
The villagers kept their heads down, terrified to speak up or defend Rael's memory.
Suddenly, the torches scattered around the square flickered violently and died. The temperature plummeted, freezing the breath in the soldiers' lungs. A thick fog rolled in from the treeline, accompanied by the heavy, rhythmic sound of slow footsteps.
"Who's there?!" Vane barked, drawing his broadsword. "Show yourself!"
From the shadows stepped a figure shrouded in a dark cloak. As he walked under the moonlight, the hood fell back, revealing Rael. His eyes burned with an unnatural, crimson glow that pierced through the dark.
Gasps erupted from the villagers.
"R-Rael?!" one elder stammered, backing away. "It's impossible! You were left for dead!"
"I was," Rael said softly, stepping into the center of the square. "The boy who tried to save you died in those woods. I stand before you now to collect what is owed."
Vane sneered, shaking off his initial shock. "I don't know how you survived, kid, but coming back here was your final mistake. Men, cut him down!"
Four heavily armed soldiers lunged forward, swords raised. Rael didn't even flinch. As the steel swung toward his neck, he raised a single hand. A shockwave of black and red magic erupted from his palm, shattering their armor and blasting the soldiers back into the stone walls, knocking them unconscious instantly.
Panic seized the remaining troops. Vane took a terrified step back, his sword trembling. "What... what kind of monster are you?!"
Rael looked at the trembling captain, then turned his gaze toward the villagers who had betrayed him—the very people who had held him down for the soldiers to beat.
"A monster created by your greed, and their cowardice," Rael answered, stepping closer as crimson lightning crackled around his fingertips.

Would you like Episode 3 to focus on Rael deciding the fate of the village and Captain Vane, or moving straight toward his ultimate target—the corrupt King of Aethelgard?Episode 2: The Fire of RetributionIn the peaceful kingdom of Aethelgard, nestled near the edge of an ancient forest, lived a kind and gentle young man named Rael. Despite his selfless nature and willingness to help anyone in need, the villagers treated him with contempt, taking advantage of his soft heart.
One fateful evening, corrupt soldiers from the royal army raided the village, setting fire to homes and plundering everything in sight. Rael risked his life to protect the villagers, but instead of standing by him, they betrayed Rael to save themselves—leaving him beaten, bloody, and left for dead in the depths of The Whispering Woods.
Bleeding out on the cold dirt, Rael collapsed before a forgotten, obsidian shrine buried deep within the forest. His heart, once full of compassion, was now consumed by betrayal, pain, and a flickering desire for vengeance.
Suddenly, the wind died down. The air grew ice-cold, and a resonant, shadowy voice echoed through the trees:
"Your pain runs deep, boy... Do you not wish to make them pay?"
Out of a swirling vortex of black smoke emerged Ignis, an ancient and formidable demon lord who had been sealed away for millennia. His eyes burned like dying embers as he stared down at Rael.
"Who are you?" Rael coughed, clutching his wounded chest.
Ignis smirked, stepping closer. "I can give you the power to bring those who betrayed you to their knees. I can turn you into a Demon."
Rael shook his head weakly, looking away. "I don't want power... If demons exist only to bring ruin and suffering, I will never become one."
Ignis leaned in, his voice dripping with seductive logic. "Power itself is neither good nor evil, Rael—it is merely a tool. Look where being 'good' got you. Humanity does not change through kindness; they only listen to power and fear. If you become a demon, you won't be a force of mindless destruction. You will tear down this corrupt world and build a new order of true justice upon its ashes. You will be my very first and strongest heir—The First Demon."
Ignis’s words pierced through Rael’s defenses, echoing the harsh truth of his cruel reality. The logic was undeniable, and the fire of retribution roared within him.
Rael wiped the blood from his lip. As he looked up, his once-blue eyes shifted into a piercing, crimson red. He reached out his hand toward Ignis.
"You've convinced me... If I must become a monster to fix this world, then so be it."
At that exact moment, a surge of dark, ancient energy erupted into the night sky. Crimson lightning struck the shrine as black wings burst from Rael's back, demonic magic coursing through his veins.
The old Rael was gone. The world's newest and most powerful threat had just been born.
