Everyone remains silent after Grandpa reveals the truth about the promise he makes twenty-three years ago. 🤐
But before anyone can question him further, he speaks.
“Now that she has completed her studies, I believe the time has finally come.” ⏳
After a few moments, the silence finally breaks.
“What kind of nonsense is this?” 😠
Iris's voice cuts through the room.
Everyone immediately turns toward her in astonishment. 😳
Grandpa frowns slightly.
“Why? What nonsense did I say?”
“What else could it be but nonsense, Dad?” Iris replies. 😤
She looks at him seriously.
“You're saying that instead of simply helping or rewarding the man who saved your life, you want to bring his granddaughter—his innocent granddaughter—into this quagmire?” 🥀
“Be quiet, Iris. You don't know what you're saying,” Alfred warns. ⚠️
“No, Alfred,” Grandpa interrupts calmly. “Let her speak.”
He looks directly at Iris.
“Let me hear what you have to say.” 👀
Iris takes a breath before continuing.
“Dad, I understand why you think this is the right thing to do. You give that man your word, and you want to honor it.” 🤝
“But have you thought about what this means for the girl?” 💔
Grandpa remains silent. 🤐
Iris continues.
“From everything you've told us, she comes from a simple, middle-class family. They have no connection to our world. They aren't involved in the business world, the media, or the underworld.” 🌍
She shakes her head.
“Do you really think entering this family will be easy for her?” 🥀
Iris takes a breath.
“I grow up around wealth and high society. I know this kind of lifestyle since childhood. Yet even I struggle when I first become part of this family.” 🖤
Her voice becomes more emotional. 💔
“You can't imagine the difficulties I face while trying to navigate a family caught between the underworld and the Kendrick Empire.” 🔱🏰
She looks around the table.
“Do you even realize what entering this family means?” ⚠️
Her gaze returns to Grandpa.
“It means there is no real peace. Not even inside your own home.” 🥀
Iris continues, her concern becoming more evident.
“Do you realize what that poor girl will have to endure because of this decision?” 💔
She pauses. ⏳
“I know what I'm saying may not change your mind. But someone needs to make you think about her life, too.” 🤍
Her eyes move around the table.
“Because arrogance runs in your blood. This behavior passes down through generations and becomes normal for all of you—whether it concerns the underworld or the business empire you proudly show to the world.” 🖤🔱
Alfred's expression darkens, but Iris continues. 😠
“Tell me, who can truly understand how difficult this life can be for someone who has never experienced it?” 🌑
She takes a breath.
“For you, business comes first.” 💼
Her gaze shifts toward the men at the table.
Her voice softens, but her words become sharper.
“Work comes first.” 📑
“Rules come first.” ⚖️
“And women...” 🥀
